Mrs. Drake has been in the telecommunications field since 1994. She brings a vast background in project management on large IP telephony implementations, structured cabling systems with thousands of connections over 25 locations and specializes in keeping projects on task and on- budget. Her projects have included new construction, moves, remodels, expansions, corporate splits. These projects have included many different vertical markets including manufacturing, energy, K-12, medical and local government.
Mrs. Drake has performed project management of a multi-state, 13 location implementation with
2000+ endpoints. This particular implementation was a Siemens/Unify system.
This allow Mrs. Drake to become intimately familiar with this manufacturers in-depth spreadsheet required for every customer implementation. This knowledge has helped customers that followed this implementation streamline the time from selection of this vendor to implementation and greatly reduce in house resources for this laborous task.
Mrs. Drake has also assisted clients in saving on average 35% annually on their telecommunications expenses with carriers as well as recoup tens of thousands of dollars in credits for incorrect billing. This is done through bill reviews specifically looking for redundant circuits, un-needed features, and items not billing at proper contract rates. This skill goes beyond simple bill pay and has allowed her clients to reap the benefits for many years to come. Knowledge of the carriers vastly pays off when coordinating new installations and moves for her clients as it ensures timely installations and proper disconnects when vacating buildings.
Mrs. Drake attended Southern Illinois University where she received a B.S. in Communications. Since then she has been certified in Siemens/Unify programming, Panduit Infrastructure Certification, and continually attends webinars and on-site conventions to keep up with changes with the major players in the telecommunications field. Mrs. Drake is an active member of the Society of Communications Technology Consultants International which allows her to demonstrate her complete vendor independence when working a client project. She has served this organization since 2004 on various committee and board positions.
Mrs. Drake has a passion for empowering her clients to make educated decisions on their telecom purchase, building successful implementation teams with a mix of client, consultant and vendor representation. These attributes as well as her dedication to service is what earned a spot in the “40 under 40” achievements Central IL class of 2005. My goal is to help business managers and owners tap into this super power, be heroes in their projects, and continue to achieve success on their terms.
